2024: The State of Our Union Is Dependent On Child Care
WASHINGTON – In response to President Biden’s March 7, 2024 State of the Union address, First Five Years Fund (FFYF) Executive Director Sarah Rittling released the following statement:
“Child care is an issue that touches the lives of millions of families in our nation. Parents with young kids need it to go to work. Our littlest learners thrive when they have it and therefore enter kindergarten ready for school. And employers, manufacturers, and small business owners rely on it for a stable, steady workforce.
“We are pleased President Biden highlighted the need for stronger, more affordable child care options during his State of the Union address. To truly make a difference in the lives of families with young children, we will need smart policies, robust funding and bipartisan solutions. FFYF looks forward to working with the Administration and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to improve and strengthen child care and early learning in this nation so more families have access to the options they need and want.”
