FFYF Statement on POTUS Care Economy Event
Today, President Biden joined care workers to discuss his administration’s focus on expanding access to affordable, high-quality child care and other care priorities. FFYF’s Executive Director Sarah Rittling released the following statement in response:
“Thank you to the White House for continuing to bring attention and focus to child care and early learning. So many families with young children urgently need support; it’s important to continue recent momentum to make child care easier to find and easier to afford. Just last month, the White House and bipartisan leaders in the House and Senate were able to pass and sign a FY24 funding bill with a $1 billion increase for programs that will help more parents find and afford the child care and early learning that their kids need. This was a huge win for families, and the momentum, the need and the bipartisan support is ripe for the taking. We look forward to working with the President and congressional leaders to continue to find solutions that ensure parents and employers can access high-quality, affordable early learning options.”
