Tax Day Toolkit – April 15th

WHAT: Join us April 15th (Tax Day!) for a Day of Action on the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit (CDCTC). Hashtag: #SupportCDCTC

WHEN: First Five Years Fund and our partners are joining our efforts Tuesday April 15th from 11 am to 3 pm

WHY: The Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit is the only tax provision specifically designed to help working parents with the cost of child care – but it hasn’t been updated in 20 years. We know that Congress will focus on taxes this year. We also know it is crucial that protecting and expanding the CDCTC is part of that conversation.

HOW: We need to get this message in front of Congress.  (1) Use the action center to contact your lawmaker and tell them how important CDCTC is (all you have to do is enter your email and zip code!) and  (2) Share your support for CDCTC (and our action center!) on Twitter – just copy and paste the tweets and graphics below!

Share the below language and graphics on social media:

  • Tweet One: Millions of families are struggling to pay the high cost of child care.

The CDCTC is a vital tax credit that helps families afford care and stay in the workforce –  but it hasn’t been updated in nearly 2 decades.

    Congress must expand and #SupportCDCTC.
  • BONUS: Tag your member of Congress! Find their Twitter handle here.
  •  Tweet Two: 86% of voters nationwide support expanding the CDCTC – a tax credit that helps parents afford child care!

This Tax Day, I’m calling on Congress to #SupportCDCTC and expand it to help more working families!
